Summer Term 2

Week 2

This week we have continued with our story ‘ A day at the seaside’. We made our own beach themed transient art pictures using natural materials in Forest School with Mel and have also decorated beach cupcakes! We designed our own flip flops and used our fine motor skills to thread beads onto the straps to decorate them and we have had so much fun wearing them in class and in our class beach. We had our special Father’s Day event in school and enjoyed having doughnuts and painting pebbles with our Dad’s!

Week 1

For our ‘Water, Water, Everywhere’ topic, we have been looking at the seaside. We had a lovely sensory story called ‘A day at the seaside’ and have enjoyed lots of call and response sessions to help us retell the story. We have our very own beach in Mel’s Class and have had so much fun making sandcastles and splashing in the rock pool. We have been counting pearls and matching them to the number on seashells and some of us have also been adding numbers together! We made our very own chips, using our peeling and cutting skills and packed our own bag for the beach.
