Spring 1

Spring 1 week 1

We love Attention Autism sessions (aka bucket), this week we celebrated New year.  Everyone loved the light up toys, balloons and poppers in bucket.  We then had lots of fun with paint and glitter making a firework picture.

Our Topic this half term is Winter. In our sensory cooking sessions we will be making lovely soup to warm us up on the cold days in Winter. We had lots of fun this week peeling and chopping the vegetables to make our vegetable soup.

Spring 1 Week 2.

We have been working hard on our fine motor skills this week through our topic. We made a paper mache snowman and some lovely beaded scarves for our snowmen.

Spring 1 week 3. Forest school

We had so much fun on our educational visit on Monday.  We went to China town in Liverpool to see some of the decorations as we have been learning about Chinese New Year.  We had three pictures of landmarks that we had to try and find, we did really well and found all three.

We then had a treat and went to McDonald’s, we used our picture communication to request what we wanted then all sat together in the restaurant enjoying our food.

We had another amazing week. We were mastering our baking and cooking skills making bread buns and vegetables soup. We did not forget to celebrate Chinese New Year in the Art activities. We had a lot of outdoors activities as weather spoiled us with sunshine. As a highlight of the end of the week we enjoyed swimming and splashing in a swimming pool.

Forest School

Spring term 1 week 5. We had another fantastic week, filled with laugh and fun. We have been super busy in Forest School, making delicious food in sensory baking and cooking. We went for a walk to do snack shopping. Michelle gave us very interesting lessons about cold, winter and ice during Autism Attention. We had a lot of fun in swimming and in many other activities.

What a busy week we’ve had. On Monday we were out at Haigh Hall and Beacon Park. This week was National Story Telling Week so we looked at the story of the Gingerbread man. On Tuesday and Thursday we baked gingerbread cookies and on Wednesday our Autism Attention session was based on the story as well. We have also done some gardening, planting some herbs and spring flowers and went for a walk. We have finished the week with swimming and a sensory afternoon. Now, we look forward for a half term break.
