At Kingsbury we use the story massage programme co-founded by Mary Atkinson and Sandra Hooper. 

This combines positive touch and communication through touch in a nurturing, fun and versatile way.  These sessions afford the invaluable opportunities for children and supporting adults to share quality interaction and therapy time.  The benefits are many including the ability to calm, to regulate, to build positive and respectful relationships, develop self-awareness and boost mental health.   

There are ten massage strokes used to represent words and themes in stories, songs, or rhymes.  These are not used only in massage story sessions.  Some of our children find them soothing and calming therefore they become a part of everyday interaction.
