Autumn 2
Week 1
We love sensory baking in our class! Last half term we concentrated on making short bread biscuits; this half term we will be concentrating on making cakes. We will learn what ingredients are needed and the order we mix them as well as practicing all motor skills.
For our sensory cooking sessions this half term, we will be moving on from making sandwiches to making pasta sauce. We will learn new ingredients, learn to chop safely and experience new tastes and smells.
We have had lots of fun this week trying different ways of mark making.
Week 2.
Mondays in Forest School are so much fun! This week Ruth had lots of hedgehog activities for us to enjoy.
We love gardening in Shell’s class. This week we have looked at the importance birds have in helping in our garden, from spreading seeds to keeping on top of insects. We made bird feeders to hang on our playground to help feed the birds over the winter.
Week 3.
On Monday we went to Southport on our educational visit. We went to buys some Christmas decorations and crafts for our class. Each child picked their favourite Christmas decoration to buy. We enjoyed looking at all of the lights and colourful decorations in different shops.
it wouldn’t have been a trip to Southport without a visit to watch the trains coming and going. We had lots of fun waving to the train drivers and hearing the whistle blow.
On Friday afternoon we had a lovely enrichment session with Kathryn’s class. The children enjoyed playing with different children.
