We enjoyed a trip to Golden Days Garden centre where we bought a strawberry plant.  We found the water features fascinating.  We had a trip to Rainford Park where we played on the equipment and had a game of football.

We have started to learn about Easter.  We enjoyed making an egg for our card by threading wool through it.  We played Easter Bingo, and matched egg numbers to egg Numicon.  We liked playing with the chickens and rabbits and having races.

Forest School

Week beginning 6th March 2023

Emma’s class have been working very hard this week.  We started our week with PE and climbing on the equipment.  We had fun in soft play.  We are learning about growth so we got the planters and put holes into them to drain the water.  We took the planters and the compost outside because the planters will be too heavy to move once they are filled.  We used spades and trowels to fill the planters with compost.  We then added our different flower seeds before putting a layer of compost over them and watering them.  We got very dirty so we learnt how to wash our shoes.

On Tuesday we enjoyed sensory playground.  We then thought about our likes and dislikes.  We had YOGI in school and enjoyed a yoga session that taught us things we can do if we are scared or unhappy.  We shared our news and wrote about it.

We love going to the museums and visited the World Museum in Liverpool on Wednesday again.  We had an amazing day!
On Thursday we did a report about our trip out on the laptops.  We enjoyed sensory massage in the light room.  We have had some furniture delivered that needed to be put up so, because we focus on life skills, we helped to put it all together.  We learnt how to use a hammer and we were so pleased when we had finished!

Week beginning 27th February 2023

This week we are celebrating World Book day.  Our book is ‘Matilda’. We have thought about Matilda’s magical power and created a power that we would like to have.  Some of the powers included transforming into something else, having a port hole to get to places, having an invisibility cloak, and having the same powers as Matilda.

There is a pet Newt in Matilda so we have researched a pet and found out how to care for it.  We presented this information in a word document.

World book day was great fun.  We were met by Miss Trunchbull when we arrived in school.  We enjoyed exploring science activities and a mini olympics!  At the end of the day we were going to eat our chocolate cake that we had made but there was a piece missing and Miss Trunchbull was not happy!!!!  Once we had found out who had taken it, she did let us all have a piece.

We have enjoyed soft play, PE, light room and the sensory playground.  On Friday Swimming was cancelled so we enjoyed a community walk and a trip to Sandy Lane park.
