Jess' Class

Jess’ Class 2021-2022

Welcome to our page! Here is our fabulous team…

Jess’ Class is a busy and happy class. We learn through play and we really enjoy Rebound Therapy and Sensory Diet. Our focus is developing our early learning play skills and communication skills to create a solid foundation for learning throughout Kingsbury. We love to play with our friends in class and particularly like role play and the home corner. Much of our curriculum is sensory based and informal but we also like to learn maths, literacy and topic. We enjoy arts and craft and learning outdoors but most of all we like to have lots of fun!

We enjoy learning in all the different areas of our school and community including swimming, soft play, light room, rebound therapy, PE, the Digital Den and on the playground. We go out in the community to learn valuable life skills like shopping and budgeting. We try to learn as many skills that will help us to be as independent as possible in the future.

Fun and happiness in our class!

Spring Term 1 2022

Week Three

We have had a great week this week. We have started our new topic ‘What is it made of? And what does it do?’. We have looked at what materials things are made of and began to identify different materials around the class and in the wider environment. We are also taking part in RSPBs Birdwatch Month so we have been identifying different birds and we even started to make our own bird boxes to put outside and hopefully see more birds! We unfortunately did not have swimming this week but we did have lots of sand and water play in class. Hopefully we will have swimming next week!

Week One and Two

We have had a really good start to the term. We have celebrated new year with lots of art and a new year themed Attention Autism. We were able to go on some trips out last week to different parks and attempted to go to the woods but it was far too cold! We have loved playing with the sand in class and playing with the ball run. We also had swimming for the first time in 2 years. The children were amazing! We will have swimming every week this term.

Autumn Term 2 2021

Week Seven

This week has been very busy! We went on the bus to Rainford Park, ice painting and we had a sensory Christmas story in the light room. Wednesday was our party day and we had lots of fun dancing to Christmas music in the big hall. We also played pass the parcel, had lots of tasty party food and everyone got a present from Santa. We had a special visit from Santa in his Christmas car and he delivered some sweets for everyone to share. We finished all of our Christmas activities and we watched our Christmas performance on the white board.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone!

Week Six

This week we performed our song for the Christmas play and continued to make our Christmas crafts. We have done lots of Christmas activities including finger painting, counting, and we have explored different scented play dough. We had our Christmas dinner too.

Week Five

This week we have been out on the bus to Bickerstaffe and Rainford Park. We also made some more Christmas decorations, continued to learn our songs for the Christmas play and made some tasty flapjacks.
