Summer 1 2024

Our topic this half term is ‘Let’s explore!’

Week beginning 20th May: This week we have been reading our sensory story The Very Hungry Caterpillar and looking at the life cycle of a butterfly.

Week beginning 13th May: We took our sensory story about Ladybirds to the park and have participated well in The Very Hungry Caterpillar themed Attention Autism sessions.

Week beginning 7th May: This week we have enjoyed the warmer weather with lots of outdoor play, a community walk to the park and water play.

Week beginning 29th: This week we have continued with our sensory story, focusing on the life cycle of a duck and counting through rhymes such as 5 little ducks.

Week beginning 22nd April - This week we began a new multi-sensory story adapted from the book ‘Edward goes exploring’ by David Pace. We discovered animals hiding in the grass, trees and pond and used sensory play to structure the life cycle of the frog.

Week beginning 15th April - This week we re-established our routines after a 2 week Easter break. We read ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ using multi-sensory experiences.
