Spring

28th March

Our week has been focused on Easter. We visited church and learned about Holy Week through sensory activities and stories. We also participated in our Easter bonnet parade which the children enjoyed. Have a lovely holiday.

22nd March

This week, we visited Chorley Cinema to watch "The Secret of the Magic Potion." It was the first time we had visited the cinema, and the children were a credit to the school. As we near the end of our "Under the Sea" topic, we've enjoyed reading and participating in activities relating to "Commotion in the Ocean."

15th March

This week, Kingsbury participated in a swimming gala at Edge Hill. We competed against mainstream schools across the local area. The children were a credit to the school.

Two weeks ago, we collected donations made to Sandy Lane Post Office for the school. They raised £79 for the school - a big shout out to them!

Next week, we have lots planned - a trip to the cinema and an Easter hat parade. In preparation for these events, we visited Chorley Cinema.

March 8th

This week, we celebrated World Book Day. The children enjoyed an outdoor, multi-sensory story "We're Going on a Bear Hunt!" Additionally, we visited an Under the Sea art exhibit at the local shopping centre.

1st March

This week, our parents came to school to participate in a colour run inspired by the Hindu festival of Holi. It was very messy and fun!

23rd February

Welcome back after the break! This week, we learned about Lent and why people make pancakes in February. Some of our children also enjoyed participating in a SEND sports event with other schools.

9th February

This week, we enjoyed a trip to Dobbies Garden Centre to look at the fish. Afterwards, we went to the cafe to practice exchanging money for goods. Additionally, we participated in numerous activities relating to our topic, "Under The Sea.”

2nd February

Barefoot Books is a favorite in our class, so this week our 'Under the Sea' topic was based around the book 'There’s a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea.' Additionally, we were fortunate enough to have the Yogi Group visit to conduct a well-being session.

26th January

As our topic is 'Under the Sea,' we have integrated various continuous provision activities related to it. The children enjoyed exploring trays with colored rice. They were asked to replicate patterns using their fingers, and they also practiced copying letters, numbers, and words.

19th January

This week, we continued with our sea topic. The children have enjoyed our sea-themed continuous provision. Tuesday's snow flurry and Friday’s multi-sport SEND event with other schools in Skelmersdale also provided us with some extra fun!

12th January 2024

Happy New Year and welcome back. Fasten your seatbelts or should I say, snorkels as we embark on our Under the Sea topic! The children have enjoyed our sensory story and activities relating to Barry the Fish with Fingers.
