Summer Term 1

Week beginning 22nd May

Forest School

Week beginning 15th May 2023

This week we have been reading a book called ‘Aliens Love Underpants’.  We have designed underpants, found underpants on the sensory playground, designed aliens, made aliens fly, and written a book review.  
We have enjoyed PE, soft play, light room, trampolining, and computing.

On Wednesday we had a lovely trip to Crosby Lakeside and the beach.  We played in the park, had a picnic and enjoyed the beach.  We explored the iron men, built sandcastles, and dug holes in the sand.  

Week beginning 8th May 2023

We have had a great week.  On Wednesday, as we didn’t have Forest School due to Borwick Residential, we went out into the community and to the park.  Some of our Y6 children enjoyed two nights at Borwick and did lots of outdoor activities.  
In school we continued our ‘Out of this World’ topic and read ‘Whatever Next!’  We have completed lots of activities. We have enjoyed light room, sensory playground, bikes and trampolining.

We have design and made our own rockets.  We then made group rockets to take us to the moon!

We all enjoyed playing turn taking games with our friends!
 

Week beginning 1st May 2023

We enjoyed our Bank Holiday Monday at home.  We have continued to learn about planets.  We have read a book called ‘Whatever Next!’  
We enjoyed a trip to the Beacon on Wednesday where we worked in three teams to build a den in the woods.  We had a walk to a view point before hunting for the Gruffalo.  We had our lunch, Emma bought us some chips.  We then enjoying playing in the park before heading back to school.

On Thursday and Friday we celebrated the King’s Coronation.  We made a crown, collaged the King’s head, and used our fingers to paint a flag.  We went on a scavenger hunt for things related to the coronation and ticked them off on our sheets when we had found them.  We enjoyed a Coronation celebration with Mel’s class outside.  It was a bit windy but we didn’t let that stop us!  We had a disco in the hall and joined in with some of Brookfield Park’s celebrations.

We also enjoyed going on the bikes, playing in the sensory playground, and going to the light room.  

Week beginning 24th April 2023

Emma’s class have had another busy week.  We started the week learning all about St George and the Dragon.  We made our own dragon face.

We have continued learning about the planets in space and completed lots of space activities.

We have had lots of fun in Forest School.

We have enjoyed PE, soft play, light room, sensory playground and playing on the bikes.

 

Forest School

Week beginning 17th April 2023

Our topic this half term is:- Out of this World!

This week we have been learning about Space.  We are reading a sensory story called ‘Meet the Planets’.  We have enjoyed making planets, playing with the space station, building rockets, making helicopters and using foam with the rocket.  We searched for planets in the Sensory Playground.
We enjoyed a trip to Bents Garden Centre where we looked at the different plants, furniture, water features and golf course.  We had our lunch and played on the park.

We have learnt all about Eid and completed some craft activities.  We looked at the similarities between Eid and Christmas.

We loved our first trampolining lesson!  
As well as all of the activities, we have spent some time in the light room, at soft play, on the bikes and using technology.

A great start to the term Emma’s class!
