Rock and River

Rock and River is a wonderful facility in Mawdesley, Lancashire. Some of our older children in White Frogs, Green Frogs and Purple Frogs attend Rock and River weekly for a half term each year to experience a variety of outdoor adventurous activities.  The children enjoy activities from indoor rock climbing, rifle shooting, archery, canoeing and swamp rope.

Participating in Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA) has a wealth of benefits for our children:

  • Builds resilience and perseverance skills

  • Give a sense of achievement and pride

  • Develops co-ordination, gross motor and physical skills

  • Promotes team work and supporting others

  • Increases physical health and mental wellbeing

  • Develops communication, interaction and social skills

At Kingsbury we believe outdoor learning and experiences are a vital part of our children’s learning and development.
