Please find below the Policy for Illness Exclusion periods. We have this policy to safeguard all Children and Staff.
COVID related incidents will treated in line with the Government guidance at that specific time.
If your child is ill and you are unsure of how long they need to be away from school, please feel free to contact school on the school landline, 01695 722991.
Policy for Exclusion Periods
Illness / Medical condition | Exclusion Period |
Vomiting | 48hours from last bout |
Diarrhoea | 48hours from last bout |
Temperature | 24hours from when temp within normal range |
Antibiotics prescribed | 48 hours from starting |
Chickenpox | Until all blisters have burst and dried |
Conjunctivitis | 48hours from start of antibiotics |
Measles | 7 days after rash appears |
Hand, Foot and Mouth | 2 days once symptoms confirmed |
Ringworm | At least 2 days after treatment started |
Threadworm | None as long as treatment started |
Impetigo | Until sores have healed |
German Measles | 7 days after rash appeared |
Whooping cough | 5 days after start of antibiotics |
Hospital Stay | At least 24hrs at home before returning to school |
Stitches/Glue to a cut | 24hours after stitches/glue applied |
Reporting Absences/Illness
Did you know you can report if your child is absent via the Edulink app by using the 'Absence Reporting' tab?
If your child is absent, you must contact school as soon as possible via the 'Absence Reporting' tab on the Edulink app or by ringing the school landline, 01695 722 991.
Absences must be reported by 9:20am; if we have not heard from you by that time, we will telephone/text you.
