  • PE/Sports Premium

At Kingsbury Primary Special School, we believe that physical education, sport and physical activity play a vital role in supporting pupils' physical health, emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.

The Primary PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to improve the quality and breadth of PE, sport and physical activity opportunities for all pupils. As a special school, we use this funding to ensure that our pupils can access inclusive, engaging and meaningful physical activity experiences that meet their individual needs.

    Funding Allocation 2025-2026

Kingsbury Primary Special School received £17,180 in PE and Sport Premium funding for the academic year 2025-2026. All funding was spent during the year, with no unspent balance carried forward.

    Staff Development and Training

Funding was used to provide professional development opportunities for staff (such as Rebound Therapy training) helping improve confidence, knowledge and skills in delivering high-quality PE and physical activity sessions. This supports the delivery of an inclusive curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our pupils.

    Swimming and Water Safety

Swimming remains an important part of our physical education programme.

For the current Year 6 cohort:

    • 33% of pupils can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over 25 metres.
    • 8.3% of pupils can use a range of strokes effectively.
    • 8.3% of pupils can perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

The school spent £4,680 on additional swimming lessons and aquatic opportunities during 2025-2026. The impact of this expenditure was reported as positive in relation to swimming and water safety attainment.

    Looking Forward

Kingsbury Primary Special School has identified the following areas as priorities for future support:

    • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
    • Extra-curricular sporting opportunities
    • Equipment and resources

These priorities will help ensure that pupils continue to benefit from high-quality PE, sport and physical activity provision.
