Our school day starts at 9am and ends at 3.15pm which typically provides 31 hours of education per week. Click here to find our Term Dates.

All of our classes follow a set timetable in the morning, before branching off. 

Morning Timetable 

Breakfast - Toast, Bagels, and cereal provided by Magic Breakfast

9.00-9.30am : Toileting, breakfast, sensory activities, and reading

9.30am : Welcome and morning check-in

9.45am-10.15am : Morning Session 1 

10.15am-10.45am : Morning Session 2 

10.45am-11.15am - Break and Snack Time

11.15am-12.15pm - Morning Session 3

12.15pm - Activity, personal care (changes), and lunch preparation

Some children have their own personal timetable dependent on need. For example, some of our children access a Ready, Steady, Move programme delivered by our Pastoral Team for children who require more sensory input at the start of their day.

At Kingsbury Primary Special School, we are committed to ensuring that every child can take part in the full range of educational opportunities we offer, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. Our aim is to keep costs to a minimum and to be transparent about when parents and carers may be asked to make a payment.

What is free of charge?

Most activities that take place during the school day, including teaching, educational resources, equipment, curriculum activities and transport required as part of school learning, are provided free of charge. Children will never be excluded from curriculum-based activities because a parent or carer is unable or chooses not to make a contribution.

Voluntary Contributions

From time to time, we may ask parents and carers to make a voluntary contribution towards activities, visitors, workshops, enrichment opportunities or educational visits that enhance the learning experience of our pupils. These contributions are entirely voluntary. There is no obligation to contribute, and children whose families do not contribute will be treated no differently from any other child. However, if insufficient contributions are received and alternative funding cannot be found, the activity may have to be cancelled.

When might charges apply?

The school may make a charge for certain activities that are not part of the normal curriculum, such as residential visits, some extended school activities, breakfast or after-school clubs, optional extras, or where parents request items for their child to keep. Any charges made will not exceed the actual cost of providing the activity.

Support for Families

We understand that some families may experience financial difficulties. Where possible, the school may offer full or partial remission of charges for eligible families, including support for some residential visits and other chargeable activities. Details of any available support will be shared when information about specific activities is sent home.

Typical Contributions and Charges

Examples of costs that may arise during the school year include a voluntary contribution towards snacks, milk charges (where applicable), school meals, educational visits and residential experiences. Families will always receive advance notice of any costs and payment arrangements.
