Prevent

The aim of Prevent is to stop people becoming or supporting terrorists and to do this by challenging ideologies, protecting vulnerable institutions such as schools. The Prevent duty requires all schools to "have due regard to the need to prevent people being drawn into terrorism." As a school we protect our pupils from the risk of radicalisation through our wider safeguarding duties, and through our curriculum wide promotion of British Values and respect for our wider multi-cultural society. Staff receive training as part of our safeguarding duties in the recognition of children who may become vulnerable to extremism. Promoting British Values is a key part of our preventative measures.

Any concerns are formally passed on to our DSL.
