Uniform

At Kingsbury Primary School we believe that a school uniform can play an important role in fostering a sense of belonging, community, and equality among our students. While we encourage students to wear a uniform for its benefits in fostering a sense of pride, unity, and readiness for learning, we understand that our children’s circumstances may make this difficult for some families. Therefore, our uniform policy aims to balance the promotion of a uniform dress code with flexibility for those who may need it.

We also have access to uniform through our Family Support. 

We encourage children to wear the following items as part of the school uniform:

  • Polo Shirt/T-Shirt: Plain, comfortable, and neutral colours.
  • Trousers/Skirt: Grey or black trousers or skirts. Skirts should be of an appropriate length, just above or below the knee. Children should be able to play and learn without feeling restricted
  • Sweater or Jumper: Grey, black, or navy-blue sweater or jumper. A school-branded jumper is encouraged but not required.
  • Footwear: Plain black shoes. Trainers or boots are acceptable if they are clean, and in good condition.
  • Tights/Socks: Black or grey tights or plain socks.

We expect our children to keep their hair neat and tidy to allow them more freedom to explore without restraint.

Please refrain from wearing jewellery such as earrings, necklaces, rings, and bracelets. The only jewellery we expect children to wear would be sensory jewellery such as chewbuddies, etc.

No makeup is to be worn.

Non-uniform Days

Throughout the year we invite children to participate in non-uniform days. On these days clothes should still be appropriate for the school environment and reflect the values of the school (no offensive language or inappropriate images).

We acknowledge that not all families have the same resources, and some students may find it difficult to afford uniform items. While we encourage a school uniform, we are committed to supporting families in need. If there are financial constraints or if wearing the uniform presents a personal difficulty, please contact the school office or the pastoral team. We are happy to discuss possible support, including second-hand uniforms or other accommodations.
